I'm reading_fox on LibraryThing, and fairly active there - more so than here - leave me a comment if you want specific help with a feature.
To me that is LT's biggest downside - it isn't always intuitive.
If all you care about is a record of your reading, than LT may not be the best place for you. It was initially set up as a formal catalogue site, where you can record the precise details of every edition of every book you own, with space to make your own marginalia. The marginalia has yet to be implimented but a vast array of other features are around!
It did have a buggy spell a year or two back, but since then I've found it remarkably bug free. I agree there testing isn't always perfect, but nearly everything works all the time : although I'm not in US timezone so may miss the peak traffic. They've recently added yet more servers, so should have better capacity for another few months until the load picks up again!
Some issues are caused from the users sides - check your brouser settings and updates!
