Are you in a union? If so, it is time to consult them urgently. And if your current "role" is no longer required then management have a statutory duty to consider redeployment.

Sure they will look at redeployment, not sure they have anything I want and pretty sure they are looking to save money (which they won't do if they keep paying me).
