Not sure of the firmware version, will check after the reader is done with its transfer(so slow). I just got it on Thursday last and the supplier had them in about a week before that so its not old stock. Might just be mine or that batch its been a bit of a PITA which may be a firmware issue and I haven't seen any updates for the firmware for it or even the files to reload the firmware for the 700 just the older models.
I don't plan on buying DRM books, I buy no other media with DRM and Im certainly not getting books with it. I was pretty annoyed at having to activate it to use non DRM file format but thats what it took and its done now(was REALLY difficult to get the software running). Most of my stuff is in a mix of pdf,epub,lit and txt so at the moment everything is getting transfered to either epub or lrf. The lrf stuff so far seems easier on the eye and reader so I might use it exclusively but converting some of my lit files is tricky as calibre doesn't like them but Im soldiering on and in no rush as I have plenty to read.
Curious about where the OP got it, in the UK as will and got mine for digitalNaccesories how about you?
