Well, that was going to be my second guess. That's the first one I've seen, although I suppose they are common around here. It did seem a bit large for a wolf spider.

It's interesting (to me anyway) that when I wear my LED flashlight cap at night (to take out the trash after dark), I can see all sorts of spider eyes glittering in the dark. I never saw them until I started wearing this cap, and they really are beautiful. They look like little green jewels scattered around the path and the lawn.
