My understanding is that you can have both types of memory cards in the reader at the same time. With what you paid for the blank card on EBay and the shipping, couldn't you have bought a cheap memory card in a discount computer store and left it in the slot? Or asked around - some of the earlier digital cameras came with cards like 8mb, they are probably still hanging around somewhere.
