Just out of curiosity, do you have any indication if it was just a matter of finally getting the manuscript to the right person at the right time, or if they'd been following the ebooks, e.g. the Kindle bestseller lists, or a combination?

Thanks, Gwyn! I think it was a fortuitous combination of factors. I already had an agent who is well-known in NY publishing circles, so when my books did well on the Kindle bestseller lists, she had new information to share when she started sending it to editors again. She could also point to the great Amazon reviews my books were getting and the blurbs I'd received from bestselling authors like James Rollins and Douglas Preston. Then as you said, it was a matter of finding an editor enthusiastic about my work, which I was lucky enough to find.
