That error indicates the calibre driver for the prs500 is not properly installed. Try uninstalling the driver. reboot. righ click the prs500.inf file in the driver sub directory of the calibre installation folder and select install. Then connect the 500. Windows should ask for the driver, just point it to the calibre drivers directory
