Not what I learned when I researched becoming a vegetarian. Do you have a source? The only nutrient I know of that is difficult to find in vegetable sources is vitamin B12.
Being omnivores from a biological point of view means that we have options in what we can eat, but doesn't necessarily mean we have to eat everything that we are able to eat. I know very few people who eat grubs, for example. I agree that variety in diet is important, as is moderation. (Fortunately, chocolate is vegetarian!
