oh, and the other thing I wanted to say was I can't believe they sell fireworks here! they've been banned (other than professional displays and even those get canceled a lot) in Colorado and New Mexico for YEARS!!! and there are stands all over the place here! apparently the local professional display is cancelled this year, not sure if it is cost or fire danger, but it is cancelled. back in WA my little town always had displays off a barge on the coast. the problem with that is waiting for full dark in Washington means it is well after 10. I think they ought to go to displays on the 3rd like someone already mentioned.

. haven't been here long enough to really have barbecue buddy friends. if the "kids" next door are home, we might do something, we've been sharing appetizers and wine and stuff a lot. nice kids!
(and they bought me a crab last Sunday night!)
