One of the reasons we decided to cut it, was that we were getting cynical. We found ourselves watching stupid tv-shows that didn't even have any real entertainment value other than our ridiculing of the show or the contestants (but we still watched it so who were the idiots in the end).
I wish I could cut out cable TV, as I never watch TV (except football games sometimes). Unfortunately, my cable internet is tied to the cable TV (I can't have broad band internet without the cable tv, it's a requirement).
