Okay, no. what you are showing is a regular butter dish. I have one exactly like it!! Real butter will turn rancid if left out for extended periods of time. At big familly dinners, I have been know to put the butter out a couple of hours before dinner so that it will be room temp, tho.
The butter bells or crocks, use a base of water to keep it cool enough not to spoil, yet soft enough to spread.
And, no disrespect to you grandma, but I'd rather have my face fall off than melt off........
