I like toast, just lightly browned and margarined hot.
We use margarine due to the high cholesterol in butter, unless of course it is on fresh corn on the cob where there is no substitute for butter. The margarine we buy has no hydroginated oils and is supplemented with all the good Omega fats.
I just ate some homemade bread, still warm out of the oven. The rolls that I made will go with tonight's chilli.
After olive oil, Canola is my second choice of oils.
I love capers in puttanesca/picatta sauces/spreads or:
- sprinkled on cold smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese and onion
- sprinkled on cold smoked salmon with just a drizzle of vinegarette.
Someone very close to me can destroy the whole kitchen making a piece of toast.
I put food in my mouth using a fork in my left hand, leaving the knife in my right hand to do any cutting and maneuvering of food onto the fork.
