So, for those of you in the UK. I will assume there is BBC-1, BBC-2, BBC-3 and.. BBC-4?

In that case, wouldn's all shows be on BBC? Or is BBC a different company than BBC-1 or BBC-3?

Maybe there's BBC (classic shows), then you have BBC-1 through BBC-4?
We have the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) - the TV channels are BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 & BBC 4 - these are all non-commercial & are paid for by our licence fee. BBC3 & 4 are relative newcomers. (The radio stations are BBC radio 1, 2, 3, 4...) Then we have the commercial channels - ITV 1 & 2, & Channel 4 (Channel 4 was named when the only other channels available were BBC1, BBC2 & ITV, so the name made a bit more sense back then!). plus all manner of other ones popping on digital on freeview such as Dave & Film4
