Alas, no Connie Willis in ebook I looked for her newest when I could not find it in print at my bricks and mortar store and came up empty.

Just finished 'Flowers for Elvis' by Julia Shuster, a multiformat Fictionwise find. It was okay. There was a character who the narrator meets and immediately decides is totally evil, and that spoiled the book a little for me because a) she would not know that at that point in the story, even with her 'omniscient' status and b) it prejudices the reader against that character; I would have preferred to see the action unfold and come to that conclusion myself. If it were me, I would have played it as the character having a sense of foreboding or something, not as an outright declaration that so and so is bad news. It did kind of color my impressions of the book, which had some interesting moments otherwise...
