Well, Europe would still exist, but might be devoid of people, granted.
They drank mostly beer here in North America too (instead of water), in the old days, for the same reason (also on ships at sea because they couldn't keep clean water.)
I didn't mean to insult beer. I used to drink beer in my younger days; just don't like it any longer. It still has it's place (on the wall.)
But to be fair, I don't care a great deal for wine either these days. I'm more of a mixed cocktail kind of gal these days when I choose to inbibe. (I know, I'm just no fun.)
Ah heck, let's just have a nice cup of tea and a doughnut.
