I've owned a K1 since Sep last year. I like it a lot!! But before recommending it to you, I'd have to know what you like to read. If it's new stuff only, yeah the Amazon bookstore, including the free samples and download via Whispernet is nice. On the other hand, if you like classics (that you you can download for free from MR) you would get more bang for the buck with a 505. There has been at least 1 recent promotion for the 505 in my area (I think it was at Borders) for USD 200. On the third hand, access to Wikipedia via Whispernet is nice. I frequently use it to get more information about something I'm reading. I'd miss that.

But either way, you'll be looking at an e-ink screen; you'll probably be happy with either one!
