I've had a bunch of devices, and one thing I've figured out is how to evaluate a device as an ebook reader. You don't read just any book. Instead you read a book that you've been dying to get to so that any dissatisfaction you encounter will be caused by the device, not the content. Last night I started reading my Oz Omnibus, and I'm really enjoying the experience. This is a very good ebook reader.

I've also been playing with the web browser. I just added my GMail account. I wouldn't want to do any serious amount of work without a keyboard, but it's quite usable. I also have Weather.com, MobileRead, and a bunch of free ebook sites bookmarked. Chippy was right when he said this was a pretty good device for browsing from your couch.
