I do agree with you, but for some reason Samhain is only putting their freebies up on the Kindle (I suspect some sort of exclusive deal, which lets them do an unusually large number of free titles, as other authors and publishers have had to really jump thru hoops to get a title listed at no charge).

No intention of shooting the messenger! And I really did mean that a freebie (in whatever form) truly is a nice idea.

But I try to make that particular batch of suggestions to any author or publisher who shows up with a limited format or limited distribution freebie (no matter which format or which distributor). My thinking is that the thing they need most is attention and reach into as broad a market as possible.
Although Kindle is the biggest one-stop-shop in the eBook world, it falls far short of being a majority -- so getting the titles out there for the rest of us serves author, publisher, and readers all at the same time. What's not to like?
