Recovering from a day that didn't go as planned.

I had to evict a bird who'd taken up residence in my dryer vent hose. He wasn't particular happy about the situation. He perched in a nearby tree and protested loudly. At least there weren't any eggs or little cheepers in the nest. I'm a softie. I would have left the nest if that was the case. Instead, I replaced the hose and covered the vent with wire mesh to prevent this from happening again.

After a late lunch, I finally started on my weekend errands. My phone rang as I entered the first store on the list. It was my boss with an emergency. I'm not even on-call this weekend. None of my errands are done because I came straight home and turned on my computer. Worked on it all afternoon and I'll still need to monitor the situation tomorrow.

The only good thing about today is that I covered an old cork board with fabric and ribbon and hung it in front of my desk. It was pretty...until I covered it with work related papers.

I think it is time to retreat to my bedroom and read.
