Does that mean you will never read your books again on a new device? Sure the current Sony Reader you have may not display ePub perfectly, but what about the next reader you buy? Or the one after that? you will most likely be able to keep using ePub books in the future, but using LRF ties you to Sony's line of devices.
I have gone with ePub instead of LRF for a number of reasons, but primarily because I know that I will always be able to open it up and examine/fix its contents at any time.
Some of my reasons for choosing epub:
- easier to change display font
- faster display if you changed the font
- don't need to load using Sony's library software to avoid paging calculations
- better looking default font for displaying books from other sources
- easier to convert to HTML for hand editing/personalization
- more freedom to position things on the page in general
