hum ! interesting ! i don't think i've ever met anyone who didn't like the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy before ! i love it but i don't read it as science fiction, i read it as humour (i've got nothing against science fiction but it's not a genre i read much either), perhaps that makes a difference. personally i never get tired of douglas adams' writing although i think i may have a preference for the Dirk Gently series. have you tried those ? they are much less science fiction-y than the H2G2, so if that is what prevents you from enjoying the books it might not bother you here. the first one is called "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency", the second one is "The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul" and they are really brilliant. heu, if you like that sort of thing, i mean.
