I've tried and I don't.

I've read science fiction since I was seven years old, for over fifty years in fact. I have read thousands if not tens of thousands of science fiction books, many twice or more. But... But, I can not read those. I have no idea why, perhaps because they contain so many ideas I've see before better presented. The series seems facile to me, without something I can get my teeth into. Yes, Yes this is coming from someone that thinks the Star Wars movie trilogy is good stuff. Perhaps I'm the facile thing in the equation.
