I just use a regular USB cable. The reason for the one that came with the jetBook is that a standard USB jack is only rated for 500 milliamps, and the cable can plug into two jacks to double the rated amperage and reduce the time required for charging.

My computer is capable of supplying enough amperage to charge the jetBook, albeit more slowly, but I just leave it plugged in overnight, and have plenty of time to fully charge it.
