I bought a Kindle knowing that the source for those e-books is Amazon, that doesn’t mean however I want to leave myself vulnerable to possible format changes in the future which would render my library of e-books obsolete. I view my e-books as I do a physical book, something I should have to buy once and be able to access indefinitely.
It may be technically illegal but I am storing the books I bought from Amazon for my own sole usage as both DRM free mobi files and DRM free e-pub files since it has been suggested on these boards that e-pub is a better long term storage option.
I appreciate the work that has been done by Igorsk and the community in creating, testing and debugging the python script files that are available to anyone that knows how to do a simple online search.
