The linux standard is

./configure
make
makeinstall

But you will need all the build dependencies and compilers installed as well. There was a firefox 2 deb in the repository coldsun linked to in his guide in this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49234 but no firefox 3 one as far as I could tell, presumably it didn't build.

Hopefully mp4nation come through with the q7 I ordered a day or two ago and I can try some of this stuff myself.
