Why I need to win an e-book reader

I need to win an e-book reader, specifically a Bookeen Cybook Gen3. And the foremost reason is that my wife will kill me if I buy another e-book reader. I have been an avid follower and early adopter of this technology, and have bought a RocketBook (still one of the best), 2 REB 1150s, a SoftBook, a HieBook, Sony Prs-500 and 505, Franklin eBookMan, palmpilots, ipod touches, and most finally a Kindle DX, which I am very impressed with.

I can't add more paper books to my library as I have no more room in my office, and some of my bookshelves are stacked 2 rows deep. So my library additions must be e-books. The Cybook looks like an interesting device, and I would dearly love to check it out- but my wife is not at all happy about my e-book reader purchases. She reads, but not much- had to get her a signed copy of The Joy Luck Club before she read it......and it was one of her favorite movies.

Anyways, I think we are about to see e-books take off; not only is more rational pricing appearing, but there will be real competition in the large-screen ebook readers. I have been waiting for a device like the Kindle DX for years; just wish in addition to pdf it displayed excel and word files. But I can always output to pdf, I guess- just one more step. My guess is that in 2 years, 8X10 devices will be commonplace, and cost under $200.
