The Graveyard Book? Seriously? Sure, it was an entertaining piece of fantasy but not, um, award winner material to me.
Of the three nominees I read, I preferred The Graveyard Book. The premise was pretty cool -- a boy being raised by ghosts. However, for me, the ending is what got my vote for this book. I don't want to give anything away, but I like a book that doesn't have a sickly sweet ending that wraps everything up in a bow, and I especially liked the way things ended with Bod's love interest.
