Evening classes are very useful. My daughter wanted to meet some potential partners (she's single but was thinking that this might not be ideal). She went to a woodworking class. She's still single because the class was full of gnarled elderly men. But she has made a rather good bookcase and learned some new skills.
A bit later she tried a class in plastering. This time it was full of young men. But they were all married and wanting to learn skills in order to do up their first house. The result is that my daughter is still single but can now do some woodwork and some plastering and rendering. This is very useful because she's bought a house in need of some attention. So forget the men and learn to do it yourself.
