Check that the volume name does not have any characters and is not too long. Also, if you have been formatting by right clicking on the drive letter and choosing Format, try formatting from Disk Management instead. You can do this by right clicking on the My Computer icon, choose Manage, look on the left-hand side of the window that opens and click Disk Management, right-click on the volume for your SD card and choose Format.
