I see this too was a simple posts:karma ratio, although nrapallo split his poll according to the number of posts made.

Perhaps we need to look at some more complicated formula. Perhaps (karma-10):SQRT(posts) would be interesting, to compensate for the initial Karma grant and the fact that karma tends to grow more slowly that number of posts.
Ouch, that hurts (the bold part above). It's basically the only thing newbies have on us veterans and here you go and neutralize that advantage that they had! meanie...

Although your use of the SQRT would then actually help newbies who have at least contributed some and received a lot of (initial) karma. Talk about taketh and giveth...

Moral here: ratios are too simplistic and prone to statistical misuse/abuse.
