Maybe it is, but for better or worse it's the way I feel, and the way I was raised -- by my strong willed mother.
I still open doors for women even though I know they are perfectly capable of doing it themselves. When walking along the sidewalk I take the side closest to road so that I'll get splashed or ran over first. When on public transportation I will still give my seat up to a lady. If I were on a sinking ship I'd let the women and children go first. I suppose this makes me a sexist.
