So I stopped by the local no-kill shelter today to say hi to the kitties, and I found this guy:

I'm not sure what's up with his eye, but he's been at the shelter for a year (since he was a kitten) and wouldn't leave me alone. I really wish I could take more, all of them looked so sad and in need of snuggles
So I filled out the paperwork, and said I'd have my mom call next week when she comes back from vacation (she's my reference). They said they wouldn't be able to hold him for me, which is OK (hey, if someone beats me to the punch, there many more cats to choose from!).
The volunteers you could tell were pretty cranky that day, this woman dropped off her cat (you aren't supposed to drop off on weekends) because her house was getting foreclosed on that day. She only had the cat for three years. Then another girl came in with a dog she wanted to drop off because "Her niece is allergic." I think I'd lose all faith in humanity if I worked there.
Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for me

(and Tsunami too!)
