Hmmm! Of all the ferns that exist, two varieties are non toxic... almost. To prepare them for consumption, they have to be blanched twice and the water must be changed between both "boilings". Alcaloids are nasty for the frail body we live in.
Forgot to add: Only the tiny fronds are edible. The mature plant kills.
