Argh! I'm currently trying not to scream "FOCUS!" at a group of musicians. They only had 4 hours to record a 3 track EP, one of them was nearly an hour late, and now the bass player is noodling on an acoustic guitar he "found" (translation, opened the cupboard IN MY HOUSE, took out the guitar case, opened it, took it out and started playing).
The drummer has finally returned from scaring the Jehovah's Witnesses who chose this morning to introduce themselves, and is instead standing in the drum studio (my lounge) reading passages from the bible for the amusement of the lead singer in the main studio (my housemate's bedroom). Meanwhile my housemate (producer/sound engineer/lead guitarist) is wandering round muttering things like "maybe I should plug in the electric guitar ... should I put the amp in the kitchen."
In two hours one of them has to go, and at current rate of progress they might have recorded the instrumentation for one track. Even if the lead singer can stay on and record vocals this afternoon, they've still got 2 more track to go SO THEY'LL HAVE TO COME BACK.
After some persuasion I convinced them that unplugging my internet connection would not speed up the process so at least I have this place to let off steam! Can't even go into the kitchen for food and drink as there's an amp with a mic set up in there. Luckily the acoustics in the bathroom aren't very good
All I can say is it's a good thing their music's brilliant as otherwise I'm not sure I'd let them come back!
