Here is some more info from the small print:

To qualify, your application for the card must be received by June 30, 2009, and the transaction date must occur on or before August 30, 2009. Please allow 8-10 weeks from the first transaction date for the bonus points to be posted to your Sony Points account.

Wow 8-10 weeks.
