I do the same thing, always get the sample first. Problem was, after reading the samples of all the books on my "to read" list, I ended up buying them all!
I've gotten quite a few free books over the last several days though so I should be good with those for awhile.
Although while looking in another thread last night I remembered a series I used to read and had forgotten about and there are 5 more books in the series so I will probably be buying all those soon!
