Actually, we have that now. The speech recognition software that came with MS Vista works fairly well and the more I use it the better it works. The greatest difficulty for me is making corrections. I am a bit obsessive about spelling and try to make sure my grammar is correct before posting (there is no way I would use the acronyms and short cuts my kids use when texting - maybe it's a teacher thing ). Consequently, I make a good number of corrections. I can't seem to get the software to do what I want and end up typing the corrections myself.

In those mass produced electric cars I suggested, (that don't cost the same as a Hummer, by the way) I would like to see factory installed mobile phones that are hands free and don't add a huge amount to the price of the car. If you can buy a phone for $50, it shouldn't cost hundreds of dollars to have a phone installed at the factory. That way, people could keep both hands on the wheel and pay more attention to their driving and I wouldn't get stuck behind some guy in a pick-up truck going 25mph in a 40mph zone on a single lane road yakking to his buddy thinking he's out for a Sunday stroll!! ARG! Believe it or not, this happens to me almost everyday out in here in rural, VA!

Sorry. . .. . .in the wrong thread I guess. Now, which way to the Vent and Rant thread?!?!
