I'd been worried about that--tracked the shipment, waited a few days, waited a few more, got ready to contact them and ask what the damage would be (because if they wanted $200 to fix it, I might decide to just take that one back, unfixed 'cos it's embossed, and eventually get a new one, or switch to a Jetbook).

It's fixed. It's being shipped now. I just needed to pay the $29 labor fee; the year's warranty on the original purchase covered the parts.

I'm ECSTATIC. I really didn't expect this to be covered. (I wonder if it matters that I bought it from the Sonystyle store, not from a third-party vendor?)

Will be pestering husband to design me some kind of case with a lanyard; I want something with a wrist-strap so I don't drop it again.
