That's a good point, but I see it as a totally different situation. What you asked is about how to manage a relationship.

If there's a relationship, there is no dating although the couple may go out. Couples don't "date," although they may go out and call it one. While you're dating, you're getting to know the person and deciding whether you want a relationship.
