Hey all,

My Q7 arrived today -- didn't get an email, nor a tracking number (I'm in Thailand.) But it arrived a day before they told me that they would be shipping it! So no complaints with Eletroworld. VAT was around $20-22 US (728 baht with all fees). They valued it at 4000 baht ($120 or so.)

At first I thought the thing was screwy -- had bad calibration, couldn't get it to come back from sleep, etc. I thought I was doomed!

Finally got it to reboot, and all is well.

It's just lovely. Wishing it had as many keys as my Nokia 770, but I haven't done any customizing yet, except playing with little OpenBox config stuff, lxpanel stuff, etc.

It is slow -- there are significant delays between taps and when the interface shows reaction (checkboxes, dropdowns etc.) I'm assuming that this can be made to go away with a better OS. I'll probably be trying Mer soon -- as soon as I'm sure that there's good wireless, mplayer and fbreader support. Not too big a hurdle, actually.

Certainly haven't tried movies, or the like yet. Gotta get the repositories connected, and look for better stuff.

Gonna play with xrandr, and matchbox. And GPE. (xrandr is onboard already.)

But it's lovely to hold and look at. If it's configured to 480x800, it might be more usable...
