You're probably right. I currently live in Birmingham, UK, so although I have heard of this 'sun' and indeed seen it on tv, I'm not actually sure what it is.

About two weeks ago, during our 'summer', I got caught in a hailstorm, so I doubt a solar powered reader would be too successful here either.

Do you think it would be possible to make a device powered by rain or cold?
