I've dropped mine a few times.
Dropped it and bounced it off a bed frame onto carpet once. Dropped a couple of times onto carpet on various sides/corners. Dropped it once on tile where it landed on it's side. All of these were with it in the stock cover and the cover closed. No damage/problems so far. <knock on wood>
