On the mobile TV side of things, I think the way content is packaged is critical. Whether it's from mobile providers, or other content services (free or paid), I think there's a place for mobile TV.

SprintTV is nice, but there are only a few "real" live stations. NFL Mobile, Fox News and ABC Now are the three that come to mind. The rest of the content is pretty hard to navigate and relatively worthless in my opinion. Who wants to dig into the menus to find a Discovery Channel minishow on the Pyramids.

But, on the other hand, if it's good content in a simple fashion, it could be awesome. SprintTV already does offer a 2-3min clip from the Tonight Show, and an NBC News Update that might even be refreshed during the day. Now that's good content that I will use. How about a 15 min shortened version of Sportscenter? How about CNN Headline news channel? How about a Daily 3 min Discovery Channel clip? How about a 5 min snippet to summarize each of the most popular shows for people that want to know what is going on, but don't have time to watch the full show? What about highlights from Meet The Press and Hardball and etc?

There's so much potential great content for mobile devices, I don't know why we don't see it out there. Is it tough to create? Tough to license? I think it's going to happen one way or another. I'm not the only one that wants to see some of this stuff, but not spend an hour on a show, or waste a half hour on the local news and another half hour on national news every day, when most of the local news is just stringing you along with promises of a "big scoop" that always ends up being worthless?

And with services like that, people might not even mind paying a reasonable fee, like say $5-$10/mo to have access to that content.
