Five inch E-ink liseuses come out under 200$. Likely manufacturers Astak, BeBook, possibly others.
Barnes & Noble / Fictionwise announce they have recruited or designed an intermediary liseuse, and will begin actively promoting the e-book section of the bookstore.
Apple demos a tablet, "iGrab," capable of reading e-books, among many other things. A sort of "iPod Touch on steroids" it is heavier than e-ink liseuses, with a shorter battery life and it tends to run hot, but it can surf the web and run video and other iPod like apps. Crystal ball is unclear on whether it has WiFi or 3G; if the latter, regular ransoming is necessary to keep reader functioning. Ransom on the order of 50$ per month.
Amazon DX starts shipping. First screens are glass; reader requires careful handling.
