I am fine with my Kindle w method of navigating, but Just an FYI.
I do skim because I reread books many times. Getting past the 'boring parts' sometimes means I'm skipping pages. The interesting thing about skipping forward by quickly changing pages is that on e-ink battery is related to page turns. That means that quickly flipping pages uses as much battery juice as reading them does.
