Yes for sure, but I think their website is not so flexible (and I don't know who post in the blog, but yes here he (she?) could be more reactive

No, the GPL ask you to only provide the source code from GPL project. If you use Linux/uBoot and other things that is GPL in your device, the GPL doesn't force you to provide the source code of your own application, or any other closed source application you use in the device until it doesn't binary link with a GPL (not LGPL) library/application.
So Bookeen comply with the GPL.
