I have the 505 so I'm not sure about the 500, but I know that unless the unit is
completely shut down that it will continue to use some battery power. Plus, it uses power when the pages are turned.
So, you are really talking about battery power lasting 2 to 3 weeks even though you only read 400 pages during that time.
** More experienced members or a 500 owner -- please correct if this is not true for the 500. Thank you.
