on Portrait pdf files that are comics, i use portrait orientation, autocropping, full processing, boldness 6 and edge enhancement 7 (the defaults i think), + 8 levels of black. With these settings i get very good results almost all the time. Btw do you use the latest, patched version of rasterfarian? i think it is 2.5.2
