Yes, it seems like it has a thick plastic or metal insert, because no cardboard would have sustained the bending I tried on it. A full-on knuckle punch just gives me sore knuckles.

I'm not saying this is as good as the Book Armor case that's been specifically made for the Reader. It just seems like it might be the same basic case from the same assembly line. On mine, the right side is deeper than the left--the right side's zipper is about 5/8 inch of cordura fabric from the hard back, compared to about 1/8 inch on the left).

If they're the same case, well, I guess Book Armor has to make a reasonable profit. But if you need cables and don't mind jury rigging a bit ...
