I just came to this same conclusion.

Now, being lazy before getting ready for work, listening to "The Cosmic Computer" by H Beam Piper on my YP-P2, and reading MR.
The comments by men about the women in the story are pure retro. It's a cross between "The Jetsons" and the male dominated societies of the past.
